This Privacy Policy describes how Gabriele Rizzo ("I", "me", or "my"), the developer of the Starz mobile application ("Starz" or "the App"), collects, uses, and discloses information when you use my App.

By using Starz, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use Starz.

Information I Collect

I collect information to provide and improve my service to you.

  • Personal Information You Provide Directly: When you create an account with Starz, I collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to me, including:

    • Your Name
    • Your Email Address
    • Your Password (stored in a securely hashed format)

  • Image Data: Starz allows you to upload images from your device for enhancement. These images are processed locally on your device and are NOT stored on my servers. Once the enhancement process is complete, I do not retain or store your images.

  • Information Collected by Third-Party Payment Processor (Stripe): For subscription services within Starz, I use Stripe as my payment processor. When you make a payment, Stripe collects information necessary to process your transaction. This may include:

    • Payment card details (e.g., credit/debit card numbers, expiration dates, security codes)
    • Billing address
    • Potentially, your IP address and device information for fraud prevention and compliance.Please note that Stripe acts as a separate data controller for the information they collect during the payment process. Their collection and use of your information are governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy, which you should review. I do not directly collect or store your full payment card details on my servers.

  • No Direct Collection of Usage, Device, or Location Data:Starz does not directly collect anonymous usage data, device-specific information (like unique device identifiers), or location data. Any such data potentially collected is solely by the third-party payment processor (Stripe) as part of their service and is subject to their privacy policy.

How I Use Your Information

I use the information I collect for the following purposes:

  • To create and manage your Starz account.
  • To provide you with access to the App's features and services, including image enhancement capabilities.
  • To communicate with you regarding your account, updates, and support inquiries.
  • To process your subscriptions and payments through Stripe.
  • To ensure the security of the App and prevent fraudulent activity.

Disclosure of Your Information

I do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others. I may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

  • With Third-Party Service Providers: I use Stripe for payment processing. Your information will be shared with Stripe as necessary to complete your transactions. Their use of your information is governed by their own privacy policy.
  • For Legal Reasons: I may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court order or government agency).
  • To Protect My Rights: I may disclose your information when I believe it is necessary to protect my rights, property, or safety, or the rights, property, or safety of others.

Data Security

I take reasonable measures to protect the personal information I collect from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. I utilize secure database management practices (Prisma and PostgreSQL) and industry-standard authentication (Better Auth) to help safeguard your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. Therefore, while I strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, I cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Children's Privacy

Starz is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. I do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If I become aware that I have collected personal information from a child under the age of 13 without verification of parental consent, I will take steps to remove that information from my servers promptly. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe that your child has provided me with personal information, please contact me at gabriele@starz.ong.

Your Data Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request access to the personal data I hold about you.
  • Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): Request deletion of your personal data under certain circumstances.
  • Restriction of Processing: Request that I limit the way I use your personal data.
  • Data Portability: Request to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.
  • Objection: Object to the processing of your personal data.
